Love Beauty and Planet was started by a group of like-minded people who believe that looking good and doing good should go hand-in-hand. We are obsessed with fantastic beauty products, those that we would love to use ourselves too.
That’s why we started with one simple goal: whatever we do must be good for beauty and give a little love to the planet.
As we work towards helping to make you and the planet a little more beautiful, we want to share our journey with you. We also look for ideas, feedback and inspirations from every corner, so if you have a small act of love to share, please ping us on our social channels or the website.
This group behind Love Beauty and Planet, we are the kind of people who stay back and clean up after a music concert, because you can have fun, look beautiful and do good for the planet all at the same time. That's the spirit of this brand.
- Sonika Malhotra, Sr. Global Brand Manager and Designated Cheerleader of Love Beauty and Planet
That's why we started with one simple idea: whatever we do must be good for beauty and give a little love to the planet. If it's not, it's out.
I believe that the only way to serve our consumers is by creating brands that deliver great beauty results and also shows respect for our planet by being accountable for, and working to reduce our carbon footprint.
- Piyush Jain, Global Vice President aka Designated Dreamer and Visionary
By looking at the full value chain of our products we can create technologies and practices that can have a positive impact on both beauty and the planet.
- Matt Seal, R&D Partner & Product Magician
It's not an easy task, and we know we won't always get it right the first time. There will be mistakes. There will be failures. But, for us, purity of intent is bigger than perfection.
We are making something that we would love to use ourselves and making it in a way that we feel proud about.
- Molly Landman, Global Brand Director and Primary Source of Sensibility
As we work toward making the planet and you even more beautiful, we promise to stay honest at every step, and we really want you to keep us honest, too.
Beauty packed in 100% Recycled Bottles
If you wonder why our bottles aren’t 100% clear, it’s because we fill our efficacious beauty products in pretty and passionate bottles that are made entirely with post-consumer recycled plastic. They are 100% recyclable too. Our use of recycled plastic sometimes gives our bottle a little colour but it’s worth it! Up next on our journey are our caps.
Lightweight fast rinse conditioners
We think conditioners can be heavy and can take too long to rinse out. So we invented the fast-rinse conditioner technology for nourishing yet light weight conditioners that give you all the superb conditioning you want without weighing your hair down and can help you save some water too. So be mindful, go easy on the tap and do your part for the planet.
Uncompromised beauty for your skin and hair
Our collections are made with naturally sourced ingredients like organic coconut oil and murumuru butter. We are committed to sourcing high quality ingredients but responsibly.
We also make our products vegan and never test on animals. We skip the silicones, parabens and dyes too.
Ethically sourced fragrance oils and absolutes
Each of our fragrances is made with an ethically sourced essential oil or absolute, like French heirloom lavender, Moroccan mimosa flower or Bulgarian rose petals. Our very talented fragrance partners and perfumers carefully craft every fragrance such that it delights you in the shower and pampers your senses. We know some of these extracts are rare and fragile and unless we source them responsibly, we may lose them in the future and who wants that. Not us.
Our carbon tax efforts
We believe footprints belong in the sand, not the environment. Our goal is a carbon footprint so small, it's like we weren’t even here.
We’ll always be transparent and open about our carbon footprint and as part of that commitment we will not only disclose our annual carbon emissions through the production and distribution of our products– and the calculations we take to get there -- but also self-impose a “tax” on the carbon we create while making these products.
Our goal to reduce our carbon footprint by 20% before 2020.
We contribute $40 per carbon ton to a Carbon Tax Fund which then supports programs that help to reduce carbon emissions and landfill waste. We are working on partnerships that help use our fund to encourage higher recycling rates. While we encourage you to partner with us to give a little more love to the planet by doing your small acts, we are also determined to reduce the carbon emissions through consumer use through our commitment to new technologies and formats. Stay tuned!
