Frequently asked questions

Here at Love Beauty and Planet, we want to leave the planet more beautiful than we found it. We believe that small acts of love can make the planet a little cleaner, greener and more beautiful. To do this, we’re working to inspire a generation of changemakers to make the planet more beautiful every single day.

Love Beauty and Planet delivers brilliant care for your hair and body and does it while carefully evaluating every step of our products’ lifecycles with the aim of having a carbon footprint so small, it’s like we weren’t even here. We have big ambitions and, we’re on a journey to continuously improve.

We use plastic in our bottles that has previously been used (for example, as a water bottle). This plastic is collected by recyclers, cleaned and ground up. We then purchase this plastic to mold our bottles.

Our full-size and travel-size packs of in-shower product bottles are recyclable, as are the bottles and jars used in our line of lotions and our dry shampoo cans. Our caps are recyclable too – just leave them on the bottle. We’re still working on some of our other packaging, as a result of the materials and technologies readily available to us at this time. However, we are committed to continuous improvement and looking for new ways to package our products, as well as using packaging made from recycled materials whenever possible.

We’re widely available in-store and online in Sainsbury’s, Tesco, Ocado, ASDA, ASOS, Amazon and Birchbox.

It’s simple! Rinse your bottle/tub, peel the label off, pop the cap back on, and recycle!

No recycled plastic is the same, nor can it be completely clear. All the different objects that go into making it like bottles, trays, tubes, etc. mean that each piece of recycled plastic is unique. With this in mind, you will see a slightly grey tint to our bottles – we are really proud of this as no one bottle is the same, much like ourselves!

Reducing our environmental footprint is core to our mission of leaving the planet a little more beautiful than we found it. We’re approaching this goal holistically, by paying attention to all aspects of the product journey, including both our ingredients and packaging. For example, our in-shower product bottles are 100% recyclable and are made from 100% recycled plastic. We’re also obtaining certain ingredients, like murumuru butter, from certified sustainable sources.

Using these ingredients supports the livelihoods of the communities that produce them and helps reduce our environmental impact versus alternative sourcing methods. Other ingredients are not yet available from sustainable feedstocks, but we regularly work with our suppliers to find more sustainable sourcing methods. We have big ambitions and, we’re on a journey to continuously improve.

No. Each Love Beauty and Planet range includes organic coconut oil and is infused with a signature natural ingredient, such as murumuru butter, shea butter and coconut water. Furthermore, the cleansers in the shampoo, shower gels and de-tanglers in the conditioners are plant-based. But we also selectively use some key ingredients that are not natural that ensure product safety and performance.

Yes. Our aim is to halve our environmental footprint through the product journey and be carbon positive in our own operations. This means that we will have no net annual emissions and produce more energy than we need, feeding it back to the grid for others to use.

Carbon emissions are an inevitable output of producing our products due to the need for energy, transport and sourcing. We track our total carbon emissions across the value chain using internally recognised standards, and plan to tax ourselves for these emissions (excluding consumer use). This taxation goes into a Carbon Tax Fund owned by the brand, which in turn is used to support relevant programs that aim to improve the planet through our sustainable living pillars.

Yes, our products are safe to use during pregnancy.
